The purpose of the Gig Harbor Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce is to take a strong leadership position for business and community interests that create and maintain economic opportunity and goodwill for our membership.

Your Local Business Resource

The Gig Harbor Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic organization of 500+ businesses, associations, government entities, and individuals. Our vision is to be the community leader in providing a vibrant economic base that creates good jobs, a clean environment, and a desirable place to live. Chamber members work together to make the Gig Harbor Peninsula Area a great place to work, live and play.

Our Chamber Works For You

The Gig Harbor Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to making this community a great place to work, live and play. We represent our members in government affairs, economic development, community service, marketing and tourism, and various issues such as transportation, regulatory reform, and many other issues.

The Chamber has an aggressive four-point plan to provide value and benefit to its members. These are as follows:

Business Exposure, Networking & Referrals
The Chamber sponsors several meetings for members that create opportunities for increased exposure, networking and business referrals, and offer a variety of advertising choices. These include:

  • Business at Breakfast, monthly, A.M. Networking
  • Business After Hours, monthly, P.M. Networking
  • Business A-Fair, annual, business trade show and Taste of Gig Harbor
  • Referrals, daily response to thousands of information requests
  • Membership Directory, annual, publication
  • Chamber Newsletter, monthly, publication

Advocacy
Members of the Chamber have joined forces to advance the commercial, financial, professional, retail and tourism interests of the community. It keeps membership informed and involved through:

  • Public Affairs Forum, weekly, issue-oriented presentations
  • Legislative Agenda, annual, adopted prior to Legislative Session
  • Task Forces, as needed, for issues with broad community implications
  • Issues Forums, as needed, for candidates and community issues

Business Education
Part of the Chamber's mission is to provide education and information to help member businesses grow and expand. We do this through:

  • Small Business Assistance Center, free counseling service and new business start-up kits
  • Membership Meetings, bimonthly, focused on business growth
  • Workshops/classes, quarterly, in partnership with Tacoma Community College - Gig Harbor

Community Participation
The Chamber is proud to be a community partner, and to offer businesses and individuals the opportunity to get involved in the Gig Harbor Peninsula area. Chamber committees focus on activities such as:

  • Career Day, annual, job shadow program for junior and senior high school students
  • Maritime Gig, annual community festival - Maritime Gig website
  • Festivals, fairs & special community events - Events Calendar
