Gig Harbor is divided into five distinct neighborhoods, each with their unique character and history. Take time to see them all - on foot, by boat, bike or car. Enjoy our warm, friendly community. New memories await you.

Gig Harbor Waterfront

The waterfront features an active fishing industry that is the cornerstone of our community.

Take in the wide variety of shopping and dining opportunities as you stroll the waterfront on foot via Harborview Drive. Learn a bit of Northwest history by following the historic markers along the History Walk.

  • Gig Harbor Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center
    The Chamber offers additional information about Gig Harbor, including accomodations, dining, recreation, shopping and more. Visit our Welcome Center or outdoor kiosk.
  • Skansie Brothers Park & Jerisich Public Access Dock
    Named for one of Gig Harbor's earliest pioneers, Jerisich Park provides visitors with restrooms, dock and moorage and picnic facilities.
  • Historic Downtown & Millville
    The historic downtown area of Gig harbor offers many unique shopping experiences, restaurants and beautiful views of the harbor.
  • Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society & Museum
    Visit this museum for changing exhibits and interesting information about the pioneers who built our community. Click here for more info.
  • Waterfront History Walk
    Enjoy all the history of Gig Harbor along our beautiful waterfornt with a comprehensive tour guide book available at the Chamber of Commerce, the Museum and many local businesses. Then follow the heritage markers along this route for a journey into Gig Harbor history.
  • Finholm District & View Climb
    The viewclimb offers a panoramic view and photo opportunity overlooking the natural harbor and mountain vista Gig Harbor is so famous for. Don't miss out on the fine shopping and dining available in this area.
  • City Park
    Located at the head of gig Harbor Bay on Vernhardsen, it offers a children's playground, covered cooking area, sports fields and creekside picnicking.

Kimball Drive & Civic Center

Services and shops along Kimball Drive are there to serve you. Our city's new civic center is located in this neighborhood, as well as one of the regions top-rated skate parks.

  • Gig Harbor Civic Center (City Hall)
    This brand new facility is the pride of the city and features many works of art by Northwest artists.
  • Skate Park
    A popular spot, one of the best skate parks in the area. Go to this website for a skater's review and photos.

Gig Harbor North - Purdy & the Key Peninsula

This scenic area is not to be missed. Follow the heritage markers which identify historic sites through this area. Pick up essential provisions at a store along Borgen Boulevard before you set out.

  • The Purdy Spit
    This natural beach is the gateway to the Key Peninsula. This is a haven for windsurfers, beachcombers and jet skiers.
  • Minter Creek Salmon Hatchery
    Recently renovated, it now includes a viewing room and visitors center.
  • Olde Glencove Hotel
    A National Registered Historic Place and bed & breakfast.
  • Key Center
    Small shops and restaurants can be found here before you continue out the Long Branch Peninsula
  • Home
    This tiny village was once a utopian community and many of the original pioneer families remain, giving Home a unique and interesting quality.
  • Penrose Point State Park
    This is one of the most beautiful state parks in the State of Washington. Take some time to hike the trails and view the beautiful old growth forest, or enjoy miiles of shoreline access and camping too.
  • Joemma Beach State Park
    Another camping spot that includes a dock and boat moorage.
Olympic Drive & the Westside

Everything you need, from groceries, fashion, drugstores and hardware - you name it.

  • Gig Harbor Farmer's Market (May-October)
    Saturdays at the Farmer's Market are fun and festive with a variety of local produce, fresh cut flowers, unique arts and crafts and mouth-watering food.
  • Public Library
    A friendly, well-cared-for facility. It's always obvious from the full parking lot how much Gig Harbor loves its library.
Rosedale & Fox Island

These areas are known for their historic farms and are renowned today for their picturesque residential and gardening communities.

  • Rosedale Gardens
    Here you'll find an ever changing touring garden and nursery, also a great spot for special events.
  • Chalet in the Woods
    Here you will find unique and beautiful European gifts nestled in a beautiful hidden shop in the woods.
  • Kopachuck State Park
    Walk the sloping path to the beach or enjoy the picnic area and hiking trails. Camping is also available.
  • Peninsula Gardens
    This recently remodeled showcase nursery offers weekend seminars and seasonal events.
  • Chapel on Echo Bay
    This century old beautiful chapel can be rented for weddings and special events.
